I gave you my heart
Wrapped and tied with a bow
But you chose to bury it
In the earth deep below

I gave you my kindness
And wiped all your tears
But you couldn’t reciprocate
For mine brought you fears.

I gave you my warmth
Enveloped in fond cover
Yet you returned a
Cold, distant lover.

I gave you my friendship
To me worth so much
Hoping you’d see its value
And return it as such.

I gave you my body
And all of my charms
Wishing somehow you’d be
Forever my man-at-arms.

I gave you my love
With nothing to spare
Showered you with
Attention, affection and care.

I gave you my all
And now I am void
All that is left
Is a woman destroyed?
